During the month of March, the PASCAL focal points in the provinces of Huambo, Benguela, Huíla and Malanje held training sessions on Participatory Budgeting (PB). The training aimed to strengthen the participants’ capacities to deal with issues of public interest and to improve the work of the CTGOM (Technical Commissions for the Management and Operationalization of the Municipal Budget).

In Malanje, Dr. Franco Mufinda, Vice-Governor for the Political, Social and Economic Sector, highlighted the importance of training in building capacity to deal with issues of public interest.

The training sessions, aimed at CTGOM technicians, GEPE (Gabinete de Estudos, Planeamento e Estatística) technicians and civil society organizations, were widely publicized by the main media in the regions concerned, highlighting PASCAL’s commitment to strengthening citizen participation and participatory local governance in Angola.
