45Empowering women for social transformation: Forum on Participatory Governance
At PASCAL, we believe that women’s empowerment is fundamental for a fairer and more participatory society. We held the first preparatory meeting for the thematic forum on Participatory Governance, Citizenship and the Right to Information, at the Viana municipality’s Social Action, Family and Gender Equality headquarters.
This event aims to bring together women from the two PASCAL pilot municipalities to discuss how the active participation of women can transform communities.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Marta Gola, Director of the Social Action Office, and Dr. Iracema Marta, Head of the Women’s Empowerment Section. With our Civil Society Assistant, Apolónia Gabriel, they discussed how to ensure that women play a leading role in political and social decisions. This forum aims to ensure that women’s voices are heard, promoting inclusion and the right to information in key areas of local governance.
