PASCAL trains local leaders in participatory governance in four Angolan provinces

The PASCAL focal points in the provinces of Huambo, Huíla, Malanje and Luanda held training sessions on Participatory Governance from April 8 to 12. The aim of this training is to strengthen the knowledge of communal CACS, CTGOMS, traditional authorities and members of civil society about governance and participation, so that they can contribute effectively to socio-economic development.

Participants included members of the Communal CACs, traditional authorities, representatives of residents’ committees, political parties, administration officials, the Communal Youth Council and members of the CTGOM.

In Malanje, the training led by the focal point, Joana de Matos, took place in the commune of Cambaxe, with 23 participants, including 8 women.

The Huambo focal point, Maria de Lassalete, worked in the communes of Luvemba and Lunge, with 70 and 36 participants respectively, including a small number of women.

In Huíla, Manuel das Mangas carried out the training in the communes of Tyikwakeya and Chituto, both in the municipality of Cacula.

The Luanda focal point, José Tiago, was in action in the urban district of Catete.
