From April 15 to 18, PASCAL held a strategic training session with the project’s Focal Points in the rooms of the Skyna hotel in Luanda, with the aim of assessing the impact of the work carried out and establishing new strategies for action.

The training, which lasted four days, was led by the project director, Pablo López Deán, and those responsible for components 1 and 3, Teófilo Kaingona (Governance and Territorial Innovation Specialist) and Nelson Rodrigues (Communication Specialist). From the international team, the training was attended by the PASCAL managers in Lithuania, Ugne Chmeliauskaite, Matas Ažukas and the financial manager Vera Bonina.

There were also interventions from Plurália and JMJ, external companies that supported the training of the Focal Points.

The event brought together the five focal points from the provinces covered by the project: Luanda, Malanje, Huambo, Benguela and Huíla. During the training, the focal points presented their work strategies, dynamics were carried out and detailed assessments were made of the strengths and weaknesses of each province, with a view to meeting the specific needs of each group. The discussions resulted in proposals and recommendations to improve the activities of the focal points, thus strengthening participatory governance in Angola.
