The first training course for PASCAL Civil Society Organization (CSO) Assistants, a project funded by the European Union, began today at ENAPP’s premises in Luanda. The main aim of the training, which will run until September 20, is to enable these professionals to effectively support CSOs in promoting citizen participation, good governance and social inclusion in their communities.
With 16 participants, the training covers CSO assistants from different provinces, providing a platform for exchanging experiences and strengthening local capacities. The action aims to provide assistants with practical skills and technical knowledge to support organizations in playing a more active and inclusive role in local governance processes, especially in contexts where civil society plays a key role in promoting transparency and defending the rights of the most vulnerable populations.
Among the topics highlighted are participatory governance, spaces for participation, institutional diagnosis of CSOs and monitoring and evaluation. Participants will also be equipped with tools for data collection, activity planning and strategies for strengthening the involvement of young people, women and people with special needs in public decision-making.
PASCAL aims to strengthen Angolan civil society so that it can more effectively influence the drafting and implementation of public policies. This training is a key component for the success of the project, which seeks to promote more inclusive and participatory governance in the target municipalities.
This first cycle of training is an important step towards ensuring that CSO assistants are properly prepared to carry out their duties efficiently, contributing towards building more inclusive and democratic communities.
