PASCAL, a project funded by the European Union, will hold the Conference on Media and Citizenship on August 29, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Luanda. Under the theme “Empowering Youth through the Media”, the event brings together renowned experts from Brazil and Angola to discuss the impact of the “media” in promoting active citizenship, especially among young people.

The conference is part of the efforts of PASCAL, which aims to promote a more inclusive society in Angola, focusing on participatory governance and the empowerment of underrepresented groups, such as youth and women. PASCAL is a highly relevant project, aligned with the goals of consolidating peace and strengthening democracy in the country.

Highlights of the event include speakers Marc Enrique Tawil, a Brazilian communicator and entrepreneur, and Daniel Prando Cavaretti, an expert in innovation and entrepreneurship. On the Angolan side, Pereira Santana, Executive Director of Jornal de Angola, also contributes with his perspectives on the use of media to engage and mobilize the population.

The conference includes panel discussions, question and answer sessions, and interactive workshops, providing a rich platform for the exchange of ideas and the development of practical strategies. Participants include journalists, youth leaders, students, and representatives of civil society organizations, all committed to using media as a tool for social transformation and the strengthening of citizenship.
