PASCAL, a project funded by the European Union, took part in the Level 2 Specialization Course for Participatory Budgeting Facilitators, promoted by the National School of Administration and Public Policies (ENAPP) and the Development Workshop (DW), held from 13 to 21 March at ENAPP’s premises.

For approximately two weeks, forty trainees, including professionals from the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Ministry of Finance, GEP provincial directorates and members of the Participatory Budgeting (PB) committees, took part in an intensive “Specialization for Participatory Budgeting (PB) Facilitators Level 2” course, taught by Prof. Yves Cabannes, a specialist in local development and democratic innovations in communities and local governments in various parts of the world. The course was co-facilitated by Dr. João Domingos, Urban Governance Manager at DW Angola.

The main aim of the course was to train the parties involved in the participatory budgeting process to ensure that the implementation of participatory budgeting in Angola complies with good international practices adapted to the Angolan context.

The closing event was attended by the Municipal Administrator of Talatona, José de Oliveira Bastos, Allan Cain, director of DW, and Gizela Bastos, representative of ENAPP, who were pleased with the final projects presented by the trainees.
