Capacity building to strengthen women’s inclusion and participation in local governance
With the aim of promoting gender inclusion in local decision-making, a crucial training course on gender and local development began today at the Mediateca in Malanje. With 15 men and 14 women present, namely representatives of the Provincial Government, Municipal Administrations, CTGOM and CSOs from the municipalities involved, the training, which ends tomorrow, aims to increase women’s participation in local governance and strengthen communities’ capacities to face development challenges.
The opening session was led by the Provincial Director of Social Action, Family and Gender Equality, who emphasized the importance of replicating this training in all the municipalities where PASCAL operates. She also reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to ensuring the active participation of women in local politics.
This training is an important step towards ensuring more inclusive and representative governance in Angola.
