
Who they are
DW is a non-profit organization operating in Angola, specifically in Luanda Province, in the municipalities of Cazenga, Icolo and Bengo and Luanda. DW focuses on promoting the active participation of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in local development processes, ensuring more inclusive and democratic governance.
mission
To contribute to more democratic and inclusive local governance by fostering the structured and informed engagement of CSOs in the programming and implementation cycle of local projects. DW seeks to enhance the lives of citizens, especially under-represented groups, by strengthening networking and linking community participation spaces with formal participation mechanisms, such as Residents’ Commissions, Councils, and Community Consultation Councils (CAC).

By improving the engagement of CSOs in local governance and development processes, DW aims to make a significant positive impact on citizens’ lives, particularly for under-represented groups.
Duration of activity
The total duration of their project is 10 months, starting June 1st 2024 and ending March 31st 2025.
Target Beneficiaries
Approximately 400,000 citizens living in the intervention areas, representing 32% of the total population of the three municipalities (around 2.5 million residents).
