Intensive discussions aim to strengthen the inclusion of local needs in the General State Budget.

On August 7, Gabriel Romeu, Focal Point for PASCAL (a project funded by the European Union) in Benguela, accompanied the meeting of the Community Consultation Council (CAC) in Cubal, where an in-depth analysis was made of the results of the forum to collect contributions for the General State Budget (OGE).

During the meeting, which was attended by councillors and community leaders, the points covered in the previous forum were reviewed, with a focus on ensuring that citizens’ needs are adequately reflected in the GSB.

The IASED representative presented a detailed report of the forum held the previous week, followed by intense discussions among the councillors, which aimed to include additional issues of community relevance that may have been overlooked.

The meeting was led by the Vice-Administrator for Infrastructure and Technical Services, Dr. António Andrade, who stressed the importance of aligning the GSB’s decisions with the real needs of the local population, thus strengthening participatory governance and transparency in administrative decisions.
