Who they are

Caritas is a non-profit organization based in Angola, operating in the province of Malanje, specifically in the municipalities of Calandula, Cacuso, Malanje, Mucari, and Kiuaba Nzoji. Their work focuses on strengthening the participation of civil society organizations, particularly farming associations, cooperatives, and women’s and youth groups, in local governance processes.

 

mission

To contribute to more effective participation by civil society organizations in the formulation and implementation of public programs in Malanje province, such as PIDLCP and PIIM. CARITAS works to ensure that issues affecting vulnerable groups, especially women and young people, are included in local development plans, advocating for greater inclusion in governance processes.

 By strengthening civil society participation and advocating for the inclusion of vulnerable groups, CARITAS aims to empower communities to have a more active role in local development and governance.

 

Duration of activity

The total duration of their project is 14 months, beginning February 15th 2024 and ending April 14th 2025

 

Target Beneficiaries

8,000 citizens from the communities in the municipalities of Cacuso, Calandula, Malanje, Mucari, and Kiuaba Nzoji.
