Today, the city of Benguela witnessed the official launch of the “Te L´Evando” project, an innovative initiative that aims to promote civic participation and citizen engagement at the local level. Organized by the OMUNGA Association, in partnership with the Organization of Law Students for Citizenship (OEDC) and the Cubal Human Rights Dynamic Center (NDDHC), the event took place at the Aparthotel Mil Cidades.

The “Te L´Evando” Project is part of the program to support civil society in local governance in Angola (PASCAL), a project financed by the European Union. This program’s main objective is to contribute to a more inclusive society, with an emphasis on the participation of youth and other underrepresented groups in decision-making processes.

With an expected duration of 10 months, the project will be implemented in the municipalities of Benguela, Cubal, Catumbela and Balombo. The initiative directly involves citizens and local institutions, with the intention of strengthening participatory governance and improving the responsiveness of local authorities to the needs of the population.

PASCAL, which supports the “Te L´Evando” project, operates in several provinces of Angola and seeks to improve civil society participation in governance, especially in vulnerable communities.
