Inclusion of traditional leaders for a participatory future.

PASCAL, a project funded by the European Union, reinforced its commitment to participatory governance by holding a training session for the Sobas of Bailundo. The session, led by PASCAL Focal Point Maria de Lassalete, highlighted the key role of traditional leaders in decision-making processes and in building inclusive communities.

During the training, the Sobas emphasized that participatory governance begins in the villages and ombalas, that currently the meetings in ondjango are broader and topics are discussed with representatives such as catechists, party leaders, presidents of cooperatives and residents’ committees and later the issues arrive at the Administrator’s desk. While they appreciate the inclusion of these stakeholders, they expressed the need for greater agility in community issues

This action highlights PASCAL’s commitment to citizen participation and the strengthening of local structures for more efficient and inclusive public management.
