On the second day of the training on Citizen Journalism, promoted by PASCAL, a project funded by the European Union, an in-depth discussion was held on techniques to achieve excellence in citizen journalism, ensuring the effective promotion of the citizen’s voice.

During the session, facilitated by Alpiniano Filho and Paulo Miranda, journalists and directors of institutional communications offices from the five provinces supported by PASCAL, immersed themselves in discussions on reporting techniques and collaborative interviews. The main topics covered included:
- Information gathering methodologies and techniques: strategies for obtaining accurate and relevant information.
- Use of digital technologies and social networks: application of digital tools in modern journalism.
- Case studies and field practices: analysis of practical cases of successful citizen journalism.
The session was marked by intense interaction and exchange of experiences between participants and trainers. Journalist Pedro D’Santa Maria highlighted the importance of properly contextualizing information, emphasizing that including all details is crucial for a complete understanding of the news. He also emphasized that citizen journalism should be considered a fundamental part of community development.
By providing an environment conducive to the exchange of knowledge and techniques, the training reaffirms PASCAL’s commitment to promoting transparency, accountability and civic engagement, thus contributing to more democratic and participatory governance in Angola.
