PASCAL strengthens governance and empowerment in Luanda, Huambo and Huíla

Meetings focus on governance, female empowerment and transparency.

Last week, PASCAL’s Focal Points in Luanda, Huambo and Huíla took part in several important meetings, highlighting the organization’s commitment to good governance, female empowerment and transparency.

José Tiago, PASCAL’s Focal Point in Luanda, attended a consultation meeting on the political-administrative division of the province, held at the Canto de Catete amphitheater. The event was opened by Isabel Kudiqueba dos Santos, Administrator of the municipality of Icolo e Bengo, who stressed the importance of community participation in local political decisions.

Maria de Lassalete, PASCAL’s Focal Point in Huambo, took part in an event to mark Rural Women’s Day. She had the opportunity to listen to and learn from inspiring stories of empowered women leaders, who shared their stories of overcoming and success, setting an example for other women in the community.

Manuel das Mangas, PASCAL’s Focal Point in Huíla, accompanied accountability events in the type A and C pilot municipalities, Lubango and Cacula, respectively. These meetings were essential for promoting transparency and accountability, strengthening the community’s trust in administrative processes.

These activities reinforce PASCAL’s commitment to promoting participatory governance, empowering women and ensuring transparency in local administrations, contributing to sustainable and inclusive development in Angola’s provinces.
