Training and engagement marked by active discussions on Open Government.
The forums to collect contributions for the General State Budget (OGE) in Huambo have come to an end with positive results in all the municipalities. The initiative demonstrated strong community engagement, reflecting the importance of citizen participation in defining public investment priorities.
On August 7, following the closure of the forums, a training session was held for members of the Bailundo Community Consultation Council (CAC), focusing on the theme of Open Government. The session, led by the Deputy Administrator for Finance, representing the Municipal Administrator, was attended by 85 participants, including 14 women.
Maria de Lassalete, Focal Point of PASCAL (a project funded by the European Union) in Huambo, was one of the facilitators of the session.
During the training, crucial topics on member participation in CAC sessions were discussed, emphasizing the need for more equitable representation and the importance of transparency in decision-making processes. This training represents an important step in strengthening local capacities and promoting a government that is more inclusive and responsive to citizens’ needs.
