PASCAL Civil Society Assistant presented to Cubal authorities

Strengthening citizen participation and collaboration with local authorities.

As part of PASCAL, a project funded by the European Union, Gabriel Romeu, PASCAL’s Focal Point in Benguela, held a strategic meeting with the authorities of the municipality of Cubal to introduce Inácio Tomás, Civil Society Assistant. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the state of play of the concerns raised by civil society in relation to participatory processes in the municipality.

Among the authorities present were the Municipal Administrator, the Secretary General, the Municipal Director of Youth and Sport, and the Director of the Legal Office. During the meeting, synergies were strengthened between local institutions and the PASCAL team, promoting dialogue on the inclusion of civil society in decision-making spaces.

In addition, the PASCAL team held meetings with the CTGOM coordinator and representatives of Civil Society Organizations, underlining their commitment to strengthening participatory governance in Cubal.
