
Steering Committee meeting reinforces strategic commitments to strengthen local government and celebrate 50 years of independence.
The Project to Support Civil Society and Local Administration in Angola (PASCAL) held its Steering Committee meeting on the premises of the Ministry of Territorial Administration (MAT), with the aim of assessing progress in the fourth year of implementation and defining priorities for 2025.
The meeting brought together leading figures such as the Secretaries of State for Local Authorities and for Territorial Administration, Fernando da Paixão and Teresa Quivienguele, the Deputy Head of Cooperation of the Delegation of the European Union (DUE), Francisco Sepúlveda, and representatives of the PASCAL implementing agencies.The Secretary of State for Local Authorities stressed the importance of aligning the project’s actions with the celebrations of Angola’s 50 years of independence, reinforcing PASCAL’s role in promoting governance that is closer to the communities. During the event, the challenges faced during year IV were also analyzed and strategies for consolidating the progress made so far were debated.
PASCAL, funded by the European Union, reaffirms its commitment to promoting decentralization and citizen participation, consolidating the foundations for more inclusive and efficient local governance.
